Library Welcomes New Interim Dean

Connie Elder has taken over the Interim Dean of Learning and Technology Resources position, recently vacated after Larry Sherwood retired this fall. She brings a wealth of experience to the LRC, including leadership, teaching, and technology know-how. Many will already recognize her as an well-known figure on campus. She has been a full-time instructor in the Computer and Information Science department for a number of years. Along with her regular teaching duties, she has served as the department coordinator. In addition, she was instrumental in helping the college obtain a $882,804 Institute for Telecommunications Technologies (IT2), National Science Foundation grant. Before joining the Cuyamaca College faculty, she served as the Interim Associate Dean for Instructional Computing Services at Grossmont College. Meanwhile, a search is underway to find a permanent replacement.

I am so glad to hear that you have not given in to the "E-Wave". There are some advantages, however, I find it difficult to read more than an article on line. There is nothing like physically holding your book and turning the pages. How can you cuddle up in bed on a rainy day to an e-book??? There is nothing like going into a library and seeing rows and rows of wondeful books;a sense of comfort and warmth.
Now walk in to a library where you see rows of computers, It is very disheartening and kinda cold.
SO, I AM GLAD TO HEAR THAT THERE ARE ESTABLISHMENTS AND INDIVIDUALS OUT THERE NOT BUCKELING TO THE
E-WAVE. I commend you !!!!
